Phil
Weaver, Senior Pastor [email
Pastor Phil]
Phil
Weaver was called to Rolling Hills on February 19, 2006,
and began serving as Senior Pastor on April 1, 2006.
The beginning of his ministry at the church was marked
by the signing of a unique
"Pastor-Church Covenant of Relationship".
Phil, church leaders, and church members joined together in signing
this covenant.
Phil has served in ministry since 1988, serving the last 14 years as
Senior Pastor at churches in Alabama, Louisiana, Delaware
before moving to Georgia.
In addition to his pastoral experience, he has also taught
for over 15 years at various levels from secondary schools
to college and seminary.
Phil has a passion for helping people connect with God’s purpose
for their lives. In describing his personal calling, he says,
“God has called me to maintain a kingdom perspective, while
encouraging
and connecting people to His prevailing purpose; to remain real, open,
and honest in all of my relationships, using my spiritual gifts and
resources to help others realize their potential in Christ; to sustain
a vision for developing a disciple-making ministry through my gifts
of teaching and preaching; and to attain a lifestyle that will encourage
my family, friends, and church to impact the world for God’s glory
and the growth of His kingdom.”
While Phil has now lived in eight different states, he mostly grew up
in the South. He received his B.S. degree in Language Arts Education
from Troy University in Alabama and a Master of Divinity from
New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Phil has written and produced various levels of language arts and
theological curricula, such as seminary courses, sermons and
articles for publication, and devotional materials, including the
widely distributed devotional booklet entitled
"A Life Under Construction".
Phil
enjoys writing, playing softball and horseshoes, and collecting books,
comics, vintage toys, baseball cards and other sports memorabilia.
Pastor Phil
and his wife, Kim, live in Lawrenceville with their two children: Haleigh
and Jeremiah.
"Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow.
Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to
